Lenovo K3 Note Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) Update is now available for Lenovo Indian Versions (Update was released on the month of March). I just updated mine Today and its is just awesome.
I have read numerous comments about update issues, and was actually hesitated to install the update till the day. But the fact is, I haven’t faced any, during my updation. It went smooth but took almost 30 Minutes.
What I did :
I tried for automatic update initially, using the update option in the phone settings! It downloaded the whole 1.6 GB and when 100% was reached, an error dialogue box stating -Signature is not the same, so cannot install (something like that)-
appeared and the updation process was terminated.
I some how found out the manual updation process, and is stated below :
STEP 1: Download the marshmallow containing zip file from the below link,

I have downloaded the Indian version.
STEP 2 :
1. Copy the zip file to phone's internal memory.
2. Rename it as update.zip
3. Make sure that you have more than 1.5 GB free in your internal storage even after the zip file is copied.
4. Battery must have more than 50% charge (To make sure that phone is not switched off during the process due to battery drain)
5. Switch off the phone and Remove the memory card.
6. Now turn on the phone by pressing all the 3 keys. ie, volume up + volume down + power button
7. Keep the 3 buttons pressd until the lenovo recovery screen is displayed :
8. Now select Install update package and start the installation. (If touch is not working, then use volume keys to move the selection and power button to enter)
9. Note that the updation will go smooth upto 49% and then it stops and looks like it is stuck!
10. But actually the installation is proceeding at the background and don’t worry as it will continue after 10 minutes.
11. It took me almost 30 minutes for the complete installation.
12. You can insert your memory card since the installation is completed.

After update, some previously installed apps will force close due to the permission issues in marshmallow.
i would suggest just to backup your contacts and do a complete factory reset (I did so- and my phone just looked as fresh as new), every issues will be solved then.
to perform factory reset, do the following :
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Switch it on , by pressing all the 3 keys, ie., Volume up+ volume down+ power button. Till the Lenovo recovery menu is displayed.!
3. Select Wipe user data.
4. Now select the option having Delete (Delete user data).
Wait to complete the operation and then restart!
Now it will setup everything on boot (give the preferred language , accept licence agreement etc.. ) . It takes almost another 10 minutes for completion.

Now everything is fine.. Just connect the internet and u will get a 4 MB update too..(to fix some issues) by lenovo (just check for software update in settings menu), which will be automatically installed. (a reboot is required) .
Everything is installed now ! Enjoy your marshmallow update.. :)
